Hand Loom Weaving

Tools
Drill (Adult use)
Hand Loom
Pick Comb
Scissors

Materials
Craft Stick
String
Yarn

Tip
Use a thicker yarn and the weaving will go faster.

Instructions
How to put string on the loom(Warp):
Tie the string to the first nail in the lower left hand corner.

Run the string across the opening to the first nail in the upper left hand corner.  Wrap the string around the nail.

Run the string across the opening to the second nail in the lower left hand corner.  Wrap the string around the nail.

Continue this way until you reach the last nail.  Cut the string and tie the string around the last nail.

The loom is set up for weaving.

How to weave:
Drill a hole in one end of the craft stick.

Cut a long piece of yarn and thread it through the hole on the craft stick.

Start at the bottom right hand side of the hand loom.

Thread the craft stick under over the string warp all the way across to the left side.

Pull the craft stick all the way through pulling the yarn across the string warp.

From the left side, thread the craft stick over under the string warp all the way across to the right side.

Pull the craft stick all the way through pulling the yarn across the string warp.

Repeat these steps for five rows.  Take the pick comb and push down the yarn to make tight rows.

Change yarn colors as desired.  Weave the loose ends of yarn into the string warp.

Continue weaving until you reach about an inch from the top.

Remove the weaving from the loom.

Cut the warp loops and tie a knot next to the last row of yarn.

Trim strings next to the knot or leave long for fringe.
